YoungStar Quality & Improvement Rating System

Youngstar Logo

YoungStar is a program that provides tools for childcare centers, preschools, and home-based programs to enrich learning environments for all children. Once a year a YoungStar coach comes to our center to provide us feedback, tips, and areas of growth. They provide us a rating based off our staff education levels, our learning tools, and our building. Learning Depot is proudly a 3-star level childcare center. We are always working to improve our quality and give our children the highest-level opportunities.

YoungStar drives quality improvement in child care throughout the state of Wisconsin by:

  • Helping providers who want to improve the quality of their care
  • Creating financial incentives that encourage providers to deliver better services to children
  • Giving parents the meaningful information they need to make informed child care decisions for their children—at home and away from home
  • Supporting ongoing child care quality improvement by linking higher quality care to higher Wisconsin Shares subsidy amounts and YoungStar Quality Adjustments

The Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards specify and outline developmental growth for children birth to 1st grade. The standards hit different domains of learning and developmental growth. The different domains include health & physical development; social & emotional development; language development & communication; approaches to learning: cognition & general knowledge. WMELS are our foundation for our lesson planning here at Learning Depot to maximize your child's learning experiences here at the center.
